A New Adventure at the Pole – Learning to Play with Friends

This spring season, we had the opportunity to share with three very special students: two of them are Uruguayan and one is Brazilian. They all shared the same goal: to learn to play polo from scratch. Although they already had experience riding horses, this was their first foray into the fascinating sport of polo.

The Beginning of the Adventure

From the very first moment, the energy and excitement was palpable. Despite having no previous polo experience, the students showed a positive attitude and a great willingness to learn. At the beginning of the lessons, they were taught the correct handling of the horse to play polo, as well as the four fundamental strokes with the cue. Our instructor, with years of experience in the sport, guided them in the key aspects for a good performance.

Dynamic and Fun Classes

The classes are dynamic and fun, which allows the students to keep their motivation high. The exercises are very varied, which ensures that each session is unique and exciting. From ball handling and swinging to passing and court positioning, each activity is designed so that players have fun while they learn.

Fast and Effective Learning

In just a few lessons, these students were up to speed surprisingly quickly. The key was their ability to apply what they already knew about riding and adapt it to the demands of polo. As the lessons progressed, there was a growing confidence in their playing. They were hitting the ball more and more comfortably, making moves that initially seemed challenging.

Practices and Championships

After a couple of months, the three students were able to play practices and championships. This progression was an important milestone in their learning, where they were able to apply everything they had practiced in a more competitive and exciting environment.

Conclusion

The experience of learning to play polo is much more than mastering a technique; it is about sharing moments and enjoying the learning process. One of the fundamental principles of this sport is meeting new people and enjoying time with friends. The dedication of our Uruguayan and Brazilian students is a testament to their effort and passion for polo.

We are eager to continue accompanying them on their polo journey and see how far they can go. The next class promises more fun and challenges!
